Can I see loose cat's-eye chrysoberyls before I choose one?

Yes — that's how we work. Book a viewing or just walk in, sit down with the actual stones, and we'll discuss origin and treatment on every cat's-eye chrysoberyl.

What makes a true cat's-eye?

A sharp, milk-and-honey cat's-eye (chatoyancy) comes from fine parallel silk inside chrysoberyl, cut as a cabochon to centre the eye — and chrysoberyl cat's-eye is the true 'cymophane', typically natural and untreated. At 8.5 on the Mohs scale it's superbly hard for an everyday ring.
