Is morganite treated, and is it tough enough for a ring?

Most morganite is gently heated to settle it to a clean pink or peach — a stable, accepted, disclosed treatment. As a beryl (the same family as emerald and aquamarine) it sits at 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale and wears beautifully in an everyday ring.
