Pearls below the premium grade are sold under the broader Paspaley brand and through wholesale channels. White South Sea pearls dominate the harvest; golden South Sea pearls, which require Pinctada maxima oysters with appropriate genetics, represent a smaller but commercially significant proportion of the production.
