WHAT IS A GIA REPORT?

A GIA report represents a technologically advanced diamond and gemstone evaluation. It provides a blueprint of your gemstone’s attributes and a tangible record of its quality.

The Gemological Institute of America is internationally recognized as the leader in gem education, research and laboratory services. Committed to protecting all purchasers of gemstones and jewelry, the Institute developed the International Diamond Grading System™ and the 4Cs of diamond quality, and continues to set the standard for grading and identification practices used all over the world.

As the world’s pre-eminent gemological laboratory and research center, GIA is often the first to examine new gem materials entering the marketplace. It is also a leader in the discovery of new methods to detect and identify the latest simulants, treatments and synthetics. These discoveries translate into expert gemological services and underlie the accuracy and precision of your GIA report.

GIA’s assessment of your gemstone is objective and unbiased. GIA does not sell gemstones nor is it affiliated with any industry group or commercial enterprise. In addition to adhering to the stringent grading and identification standards, the Institute operates under a strict code of ethics designed to protect its independence and to ensure the integrity of every report it issues.
