Collection: Alexandrite

Alexandrite is a rare, colour-changing variety of the mineral chrysoberyl, often described as “emerald by day, ruby by night”. Originally discovered in the 1830s in Russia’s Ural Mountains, it was named after Alexander II (1818-81), Czar of Russia. Alexandrite is now sourced in India, Sri Lanka, East Africa, and Brazil as well.
