Collection: Ammolite
Ethically mined in southwestern Alberta, Canada, fossilized ammonite shells display stunning iridescent reds, greens, blues, and violets rippled throughout. Ammolite is less frequently known by the trade names “calcenite” or “korite”, and it is usually fashioned into jewellery by adding a thin, dark backing layer of shale, siderite, or black onyx for stability, as well as a transparent cover layer to protect it.
